S.Korea remains Vietnam’s largest tourism source market

HCMC – South Korea continued to be the biggest source market for Vietnam’s tourism sector in April, with over 259,300 South Korean arrivals, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
South Korean tourists made up over a quarter of all international visitors to the country during the period, which totalled 984,140 people, up 10% over March.
In addition, Vietnam’s foreign visitors mostly came from China, Taiwan, the U.S., Thailand and Japan, which jointly accounted for one-third of the total.
Regional countries such as New Zealand, China and Cambodia were among the markets that saw staggering growth in the number of visitors to Vietnam over March, soaring by 67%, 61% and 56%, respectively.
In April, some 842,840 inbound tourists arrived in Vietnam by air, 130,950 by road and 10,330 by sea.
Between January and March, South Korea took the lead among Vietnam’s top tourism source markets, making up 30% of the latter’s foreign arrivals.
