Gasoline prices rise for fifth straight time

HCMC – Domestic gasoline prices continued to increase from 3:00 p.m. today, August 21, according to an announcement jointly issued by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.

The retail prices of RON 95-III gasoline and E5 RON 92-III bio-gasoline are now VND24,600 and VND23,330 per liter, up VND610 and VND510, respectively.

RON 95-III gasoline is the most popular type of petrol in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, diesel oil is down by VND70 per liter, at VND22,350, but kerosene is up by VND420 per liter, at VND22,300.

Heavy fuel oil edged up by VND320 to VND17,980 per kilogram.

This marks the fifth consecutive increase in gasoline prices since early July.

During this fuel price adjustment, no surcharge is imposed on any type of gasoline or oil products. Local fuel traders are not permitted to tap the fuel price stabilization fund.

As of July, the fuel price stabilization fund had a surplus of over VND7.4 trillion, according to the Ministry of Finance.
