HCMC – Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will pay an official visit to Vietnam from August 27 to 29 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This trip marks the Singaporean leader’s fourth official visit to Vietnam since he took office in 2004. His most recent visit to Vietnam was in March 2017.

The three-day visit will coincide with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and the 10th anniversary of the two nations’ strategic partnership (2013-2023).

Currently, Singapore is one of Vietnam’s most significant economic partners in the region. Two-way trade between the two countries totaled US$9 billion in 2022, up 10.1% versus the previous year.

With 3,032 active projects and total registered capital of US$70.39 billion, Singapore secures the first position among the ASEAN countries and the second out of 141 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
