Landslide and flood alerts issued amid heavy rains in central Vietnam

HCMC – The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued warnings that several provinces in central Vietnam are at risk of flash floods and landslides due to ongoing heavy rains.
The provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, and Binh Thuan are expected to have torrential rains, with some places possibly facing rainfalls of over 80 millimeters.
Local authorities in affected areas have been urged to inspect residential areas along rivers and streams, and low-lying areas at risk of flooding, landslides, as well as relocate or evacuate residents to safe locations.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the south central and southern regions are facing incessant rains, with rainfalls ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters and exceeding 70 millimeters in some areas. These regions may experience thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.
The waters from Ca Mau to Kien Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, and the eastern part of the East Sea are experiencing heavy rain and strong thunderstorms.
