HCMC – The VND1.9-trillion steel arch bridge, the tallest of its kind in Vietnam, has been inaugurated in the northern province of Bac Ninh, reported the local media.
The inauguration ceremony of the Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge, also known as the Phat Tich Bridge, was held this morning, October 11.
The bridge over the Duong River, a tributary of the Red River, connects Tien Du District and Thuan Thanh Town. Work on the project commenced in 2018.
The 1.5-kilometer-long bridge has four lanes for vehicles and two walkways for pedestrians.
It has five steel arches that are 40 to 67 meters above the water, with the tallest arch having a height of 87 meters.
The bridge plays a crucial role in connecting national and provincial roads in the region, contributing to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong provinces.
