Digiworld to pay VND167 billion in dividend

HCMC – Digiworld Corporation has announced plans to pay out a 10% dividend in cash, with October 17 set as the record date.
The total payout is estimated to exceed VND167 billion and shareholders will receive VND1,000 for every share held.
Digiworld reported net revenue of over VND8.5 trillion in the first half of this year, down 28% year on year. The decline is attributed to weakened consumer spending, impacting its key sectors of mobile phones and laptops. These sectors incurred respective revenue falls of 38% and 28%.
Net profit in the January-June period was VND162 billion, falling by more than half versus the same period last year. But Digiworld has realized 43% of its annual revenue target and 41% of its profit goal.
The company expressed optimism about the second half of the year, citing the improving Vietnamese economy and the recent launch of the iPhone 15 as potential catalysts for recovery. Digiworld plans to utilize its extensive multi-channel distribution network to maximize sales.
Its DGW stock inched up by 3.15% to VND55,600 per share today, October 4, with over 1.5 million shares traded.
Winners outnumbered losers by 339 to 146 on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, sending the VN-Index up 10.57 points, or 0.95%, to end at 1,128.67 points.
Trading volume and value dropped by 30.8% and 28.9% over the previous session, respectively, with 681 million shares worth nearly VND14.9 trillion transacted. Block deals contributed VND950 billion to the overall value, with 36.4 million shares changing hands.
The securities sector saw a notable recovery after a sell-off in the previous session. Stocks such as FTS and BSI hit their upper limits, while SSI increased by 5.13% to close at VND31,750, with more than 33.5 million shares being matched.
SSI was the second most actively traded stock on the southern bourse, after VIX, another securities stock, which closed 1.68% higher at VND15,150 per share and recorded a trading volume of nearly 45 million shares.
The HNX-Index gained 3.52 points, or 1.55%, to 230.2 points, with 109 stocks advancing and 47 others declining. There were 100.8 million shares valued at over VND1.8 trillion on the northern market.
