South Korea-Haiphong container shipping route launched

HCMC – Container shipping links between Vietnam and South Korea have been expanded as the port of Ulsan has inaugurated a container transport service to Haiphong port.
A new regular container shipping route between South Korea’s Ulsan port and Vietnam’s Haiphong port was launched on June 15, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The Ulsan Port Authority was quoted by the news agency as saying that the new service operator, Evergreen Shipping Agency (Korea) Corporation, plans to make three trips to Ulsan port per week.
Jeong Sun-yo, Executive Vice President of the Ulsan Port Authority, expressed confidence in the operator’s dedication to ensuring the smooth operation of the new transport route, connecting Ulsan Port with Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam.
So far, the Ulsan Port Authority has established a total of 37 container shipping routes to Southeast Asia, Japan, and China.
In related news, the port of Hau Giang Maritime Service Company in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang received a 20,000-ton ship for the first time on the same day.
The vessel is expected to transport 10,000 tons of fish fat, which will be used for biofuel production, from the Mekong Delta provinces to the U.S.
