HCMC – Quang Ninh Province’s Department of Science and Technology has presented technology transfer registration licenses to the Stavian Quang Yen Petrochemical plant for producing polypropylene (PP) resins.
The event, held on September 29, was part of the Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023 in Halong City, Quang Ninh.
The 30-hectare Stavian Quang Yen Petrochemical plant in Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park will apply technologies from U.S.-based Honeywell UOP Company and Basell Poliolefine Italia Company in Italy.
In addition, this facility will be equipped with a high-tech, automated, and eco-friendly production line imported from EU and G7 countries.
Advanced solutions also include optimizing water use in production, ensuring energy savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Stavian Quang Yen Petrochemical JSC, the investor, previously announced the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor for its project. Tecnimont S.p.A, a subsidiary of the Italian engineering group Maire, will provide the FEED services package with a completion time of 10 months.
The plant has total investment capital of US$1.5 billion, with a production scale of 600,000 tons of PP per year.
The investor aims at attracting additional projects in supporting industries, sustaining raw material supplies, and creating a new wave of investment in Quang Ninh and neighboring provinces.
Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023 came under the theme of “Innovation – Sustainable Development.” The event was part of the province’s effort to support local businesses in the transfer of technologies and stimulate socioeconomic growth.
