Transimex to issue 36.5 million shares to pay dividend

HCMC – Thanh Cong Textile Garment Investment Trading JSC (Transimex) has announced a decision to issue 36.5 million shares to pay a dividend of 30% for 2021 and 2022.
Shareholders will receive 30 new shares for every 100 shares held. The ex-dividend date is October 4.
Funding for this distribution will be sourced from the undistributed after-tax profits of the company shown in its 2022 audited consolidated financial statement.
In January, Transimex distributed shares to its shareholders at 15%, meaning that for every 100 shares held, shareholders got 15 new shares.
In related news, on September 11, New Asia Investment Corporation, a major shareholder of Transimex, sold 906,000 shares, reducing its ownership from 8.07% to 7.33%.
On the same day, Viet Culture Services Corporation purchased the same number of shares, increasing its stake in Transimex to 10.07%.
In its recent semi-annual financial statement, Transimex reported VND987 billion in revenue and VND78 billion in profit after tax, plummeting 57.8% and 81.6% over the same period last year.
Its TMS shares inched down 0.18% today, September 20, to close at VND56,900 per share.
On the HCMC stock market today, winners outnumbered losers by over fourfold, at 419 to 91, helping the VN-Index advance by 1.21%, or 14.61 points, to 1,226.11 points.
Trading volume amounted to more than 878 million shares worth nearly VND20.4 trillion, down 12% in both volume and value compared to the previous session. Block deals contributed more than VND2.3 trillion to the overall value, with around 115 million shares changing hands.
In the VN30 basket, only six stocks ended below their reference prices, with most of them inching down a mild 1%. In contrast, 22 others made gains, pushing the VN30 index up by over 9 points to 1,234.57 points at the close.
Housing developer NVL stole the limelight as it shot up to its daily upper limit of VND18,500 per share and reported the highest trading volume on the southern market, at more than 40.1 million shares.
Securities stocks also grew strongly, with none of them trading below their reference prices. ORS and VFS hit their daily highs, while VIX gained 5.1% at VND19,750 per share. These securities stocks maintained active trading volumes, with nearly 26.5 million shares changing hands.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, 134 stocks advanced while 52 others dipped. The HNX-Index added 4.6 points, or 1.84%, to 254.82 points.
There were 77.55 million shares worth a total of VND1.7 trillion traded on the northern market.
