HCMC – The government of Hanoi City has announced that the phase-two Vinh Tuy Bridge will be inaugurated and opened to traffic from the early morning of August 30, in honor of National Day.
With a substantial investment exceeding VND2.5 trillion, the second phase of Vinh Tuy Bridge stretches across 3.5 kilometers in length and spans 19.25 meters in width.
Commencing construction in January 2021, the bridge was scheduled to be completed within a three-year timeline. This new phase runs parallel to the already existing Vinh Tuy Bridge phase one, which was finalized in 2010.
The bridge runs from the intersection of Tran Quang Khai – Nguyen Khoai – Minh Khai streets in Hai Ba Trung District and ends at the intersection of Long Bien – Thach Ban streets in Long Bien District.
Following the completion of the second phase, Vinh Tuy Bridge becomes the widest bridge in Hanoi, boasting eight lanes for automobiles.
The local authority has indicated that the second phase of the bridge will serve as a one-way route from the city center to the suburbs, with the first phase catering to traffic in the opposite direction.
